Judicial History of Rewa District
In Rewa district, there used to be justice in Rajshahi and Rajdarbar earlier. Still, Maharaja Vishwanath Pratap Singh of Rewa started a separate judicial system, and in 1827, he formed Mitakshara Court and Dharmasabha, which became famous as Kachehri Mitakshara. Pandit Krishnachari, Gobindram Shukla, and Gokul Nath Mahapatra arranged Pawar Diwani, criminal decisions started and the ruler of the Dharmasabha, Ramnath Gadriha was appointed, after a few days Jagannath Shastri was included in the Dharmasabha.
A person filed a case against King Vishwanath Singh of Rewa princely state in the court of Jagannath Shastri in the old princely state of Rewa district. Appeared, Shastri ji refused by writing the present order magazine which was called Izhar.
Written laws were made in the Rewa Rajshahi itself, in which the main law was the Rewa Raj Goods Act, of 1935. Teonthar, Mauganj, and Sirmaur Tehsil Courts have formed in 1935 and in 1935 itself, the formal court was formed in Rewa.
